About Gujarat University

Gujarat University (GU) is the oldest and the largest state university of Gujarat, a state known for its role in nation-building. GU envisages itself as not just a centre for academic excellence but also as a problem-solver for the society and nation. Due to this pragmatic approach, the university is focusing on creating support ecosystems for students whereby they can participate actively in solving real-life problem statements. The mission has been to generate new knowledge by engaging in cutting edge research, to promote Research, Consultancy and Extension for the Benefit of the Society and to promote academic growth by offering state-of-the-art undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.

Gujarat University has had a rich history of bringing together academia, culture, research, and innovation, and over the last few years, the university has embraced modern concepts and technologies. New-age courses spanning from artificial intelligence to human genetics to maritime management have been introduced, whereas a strong emphasis has been laid on skill-based learning.
